I’m not that into listening to complete albums, I’m more of a shuffle person, but still I can say that my three favorite albums are Manners by Passion Pit, Humbug by Arctic Monkeys and Wolfman Amadeus Pheonix by Pheonix.
My 10 favorite tracks of 2009 are:

10. Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Heads Will Roll

9. Camera Obscura – French Navy

8. The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Young Adult Friction

7. The Raveonettes – Suicide

6. Beirut - My Night With The Prostitute From Marseille

5. Arctic Monkeys – Cornerstone

4. Passion Pit – The Reeling

3. Phoenix – Girlfriend

2. Mew – Beach, -this isn’t the official video

1. Passion Pit – Sleepyhead

Basic laws of assertiveness

Posted by | Posted in lifestyle | Posted on 07-06-2009

I just read a book called “Ni me explico, ni me entiendes” ( I neither explain myself, nor you understand me) by Xavier Guix. It was a decent and informative book, the most meaningful part for me was a list of the 7 basic laws of assertiveness:

  1. You can gain the respect from others
  2. Claim anything you think is part of your rights
  3. It’s impossible for everyone to like you
  4. Think of yourself in a positive way
  5. Don’t be depressed, just take some action!
  6. Don’t hide yourself from others
  7. It doesn’t matter if it goes bad as long as it’s stated

According to the author, this list could help you to improve your life. Do you agree?

Han escuchado de la campaña “¡Ponte las Pilas!”?

Posted by | Posted in tijuana | Posted on 24-04-2009

Note: Sorry, this message was for the people in Tijuana so it had to be written in Spanish.

My resolutions for 2009

Posted by | Posted in resolutions | Posted on 27-12-2008

Well, it seems I’m going to start a new habit, my new year resolutions are:

  • A classic: loose weight. Something around 15 pounds.
  • Do everything possible to start a master’s degree this year.
  • Visit a city/town I haven’t been to before.
  • Buy a new laptop =)… Let’s see what the CES brings this year and if there aren’t anything impresive I’ll wait until midyear.
  • Sell my xbox 360. It is sooo last year haha… j/k… If you want it, let me know =)
  • Again: Carry my camera more often. I’ll try harder this year.

Finally, because I’m a man of results (not really), I’m going to tell you my achievements(?) from 2008:

    • Update my blog. I removed spam comments, posted at least once, added new sections, added the last.fm list and recently installed a new theme, so I technically I kept my word =P
    • Start working on personal projects. This I did not fulfill, mostly because of work.
    • Ride my bike more often. I went in some occasions to the Coronado route with friends and also completed the Rosarito-Ensenada ride (see my flickr photos).
    • Find a Master degree that really interests me. I found it but I prefer to wait until the right moment to tell you about it.
    • Keep going to concerts. I’ll keep doing this for a looong time.
    • Carry my camera with me more often. I always forget to carry it…

That’s it, thanks for reading and have a happy new year!

    My New Year resolutions

Posted by | Posted in resolutions | Posted on 06-01-2008

So, here I am posting for a second time in my chakalotious (great) website after more than a year of not updating a thing LOL. This time I’m going to list my resolutions for 2008. I usually don’t do these kind of things but I really need some changes in my professional life and as I’m using this blog almost every day to access myspace, last.fm and other of my favorite sites, I thought it will be a good reminder to accomplish every goal on this list.

    1. Update my blog. I’m thinking of a new theme, new sections, remove spam comments and blogging more since I officially didn’t post anything in 2007.

    2. Start working on personal projects. There’s a couple coming soon, I’m going to give more details soon so stay put.

    3. Ride my bike more often. I’m thinking of going to Coronado Island or similar places and ride my bike on weekends. This was inspired by my cousin.

    4. Find a Master degree that really interests me. I’m sure I want to do a master degree, the problem is that I don’t know what interests me the most.

    5. Keep going to concerts. I just realized that concerts are my kind of party; there is music, [very expensive] alcohol, a bunch of cool people and a lot of dancing (just jumping around).

    6. Carry my camera with me more often. I’ve got a new digital camera this year and I’ve used it less than 10 times.

That’s all for the moment, what is your plan for this year?

    Welcome to my newest website!!!

I came to the conclusion that I didn’t want to spend my time developing my website as I was doing. Visiting other blogs (like FayerWayer) I discovered WordPress, a blog publishing system; this is a content management system (CMS) where you can create and manage a blog. The features I loved were:

    • It’s simple and clean, not like Joomla, PHP-Nuke and those crappy CMSs.
    • It’s XHTML valid, start concerning about accessibility!
    • Developed with PHP and MySQL, support open source projects!
    • And other stuff: RSS feeds, permalinks, etc.

Oh! One more thing, as you’ve noticed, I’m starting this new blog writing in English. I think Internet was made for sharing resources to the rest of the world and “English is the most widely taught and understood language in the world”. Don’t get me wrong, I love Spanish language and I’m not that good speaking English but I think that in terms of accessibility, it’s the best choice.
